Safety Tips for In-Person Trades

Meet in Public Places

Always arrange meetups in well-lit, public locations such as coffee shops, police station parking lots, or shopping centers. Never meet at a private residence for a first trade.

Bring a Friend

Whenever possible, bring a friend or family member to your meetup. There is safety in numbers, and it helps deter potential scammers.

Verify Before You Send

Always verify the item in person before sending any crypto. Once a blockchain transaction is confirmed, it cannot be reversed.

Trust Your Instincts

If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Do not proceed with trades that make you uncomfortable or seem suspicious.

Keep Communication In-App

Our messaging system protects your identity. Do not share personal phone numbers, emails, or social media accounts with strangers.

Check Seller Ratings

Review the trade history and rating of any user before committing to a trade. Established traders with high ratings are generally more trustworthy.

Community Guidelines

Be Honest

Accurately describe your items, including any defects or issues. Misleading listings erode community trust.

Be Respectful

Treat all users with respect. Harassment, hate speech, and discriminatory language will result in immediate account suspension.

Be Responsive

Respond to messages promptly and honor your commitments. If you need to cancel, communicate clearly and early.

Be Fair

Price your items fairly and negotiate in good faith. Predatory pricing or pressure tactics are not tolerated.

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited on Crypto Barter. Listing these items will result in immediate removal and potential account suspension.

Firearms, weapons, and ammunition
Illegal drugs and controlled substances
Stolen goods or property
Counterfeit currency or documents
Items that infringe on intellectual property
Human trafficking or exploitation
Hazardous materials or explosives
Any item prohibited by local, state, or federal law

How to Report

See something suspicious?

You can report listings, messages, and users directly from the app. Look for the Report button on any listing page, user profile, or in the chat menu. Our moderation team reviews all reports and takes action within 24 hours.
