Add Photos

Sell an Item Photos step showing the Add Photos section with an Add Photo button, 0/6 counter, and the five-step progress bar at the top

The first step is uploading photos of your item. The screen shows an Add Photos section with an Add Photo button and a 0/6 counter indicating how many photos have been added.

Up to 6 photosYou can add a maximum of 6 photos per listing. The counter below the Add Photo button tracks your progress (e.g., 0/6, 2/6).
First photo is your cover imageThe first photo you upload will be used as the main cover image that buyers see when browsing the marketplace. Choose your best, clearest photo first.
Tips for great photosUse good lighting and shoot from multiple angles. Include close-ups of any defects, wear, or damage so buyers have an accurate picture of the item's condition.

Once you have added at least one photo, click "Next" to proceed. You can also click "Save Draft" at any time to save your progress and return later.

Item Details

Sell an Item Details step showing selling type checkboxes for P2P Meetup and Garage/Yard Sale, Title and Description fields, Category, Condition, 2nd Category, and 3rd Category dropdowns

The Details step collects all of the descriptive information about your item. Fill in each field as described below.

How are you selling this item?Select at least one selling type. P2P Meetup means you will meet the buyer in person to exchange the item. Garage/Yard Sale means the item will be available at a garage or yard sale event. You can select both options if applicable.
TitleEnter a clear, descriptive title for your listing (e.g., "Vintage Acoustic Guitar — Great Condition"). This is the first thing buyers see, so make it specific and accurate.
DescriptionProvide a thorough description of the item including its features, specifications, any included accessories, and a honest note about its condition or any flaws.
Category & ConditionSelect the primary category that best fits your item (e.g., Electronics, Home & Garden, Collectibles) and choose the item's condition from the Condition dropdown (e.g., New, Used, Like New).
2nd and 3rd CategoryOptionally assign a second and third sub-category to help buyers find your listing through more specific searches. The 3rd Category field is only available after a 2nd Category is selected.

You must select at least one selling type before you can proceed. If none is selected, a validation message will appear: "Please select at least one option to continue." Click "Next" when complete.

Set Your Price

Sell an Item Pricing step showing a USD amount field set to 0.00, an Accepted Coins list with market-rate and fixed-rate checkboxes for XRP, BTC, ETH, and ADA, and a validation message

The Pricing step has two parts: entering your asking price in USD and selecting which cryptocurrencies you will accept as payment.

Amount (USD)Enter the dollar value you want to receive for the item. The system uses this USD amount to calculate the equivalent cryptocurrency amount at the time of the meetup with the buyer.
Accepted Coins — Market Rate (left checkbox)Check the left checkbox next to a coin to accept it at the current live market rate. When the buyer pays, the crypto amount will be calculated based on the market price at the moment of the meetup.
Accepted Coins — Fixed Rate (right checkbox)Check the right checkbox to set a specific fixed crypto amount you will accept for that coin, regardless of market movement. Enter your fixed amount in the "Fixed Amount I will accept" field that appears.
Checking both boxesYou can check both the market rate and fixed rate boxes for the same coin. In this case, the buyer will pay whichever amount is LOWER at the time of the meetup — giving them the better deal.
Customizing your coin listThe list of coins shown here can be filtered to only the coins you are interested in. Go to Barter Control Center > Settings > Coin Marquee and click "Create Your Own Custom Coin List" to manage which coins appear throughout the app.

You must select at least one payment option before proceeding. If none is selected, the validation message "Please select at least one payment option" will appear in orange. Click "Next" when ready.

Your Location

Sell an Item Location step showing City and State input fields with the note that your exact address is never shared

The Location step asks for a general area so nearby buyers can discover your listing. The screen displays the heading "Your Location" and the note:

"Provide a general area so buyers know where the item is. Your exact address is never shared."
CityEnter the city where the item is located or where you are willing to meet a buyer.
StateType the full state name or the two-letter state code (e.g., ND or North Dakota). Only your city and state are shown publicly — your exact street address is never shared with buyers.

Click "Next" to proceed to the final review step.

Review & Publish

Sell an Item Review step showing a listing preview card with item photo, title Plant, category Home & Garden Used, location Fargo North Dakota, accepted payment options showing ADA at market rate worth $50 USD, and a Publish Listing button

The final step shows a "Review Your Listing" preview card so you can confirm everything looks correct before going live. The preview card displays:

Item photo, title, and categoryThe cover photo, your listing title, the category and condition (e.g., Home & Garden — Used), and the city and state you entered are all shown together at the top of the preview card.
Accepted Payment OptionsEach cryptocurrency you selected is listed with its accepted method. Market-rate coins show the live equivalent crypto amount (e.g., 204.07811605 ADA) and the USD value (e.g., $50 USD Value). Fixed-rate entries will display the exact amount you specified.
Item descriptionYour full description is displayed at the bottom of the preview card so you can verify the copy before publishing.

At the bottom of the screen you have two options:

Save Draft — Saves the listing without publishing it. You can return to it from your Barter Control Center at any time to make changes and publish later.
Publish Listing — Makes your listing immediately live on the Crypto Barter marketplace so nearby buyers can find and message you about the item.

If you need to make corrections, click "Back" to return to any previous step. Once you are satisfied, click the orange "Publish Listing" button to go live.
